Hearing Block 1, Sydney
The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion held its first public hearing block in Sydney between Monday 4 May 2026 and Friday 15 May 2026.
Hearing Block 1 examined the nature and prevalence of antisemitism in Australia and hear from a number of witnesses about their lived experience of antisemitism.
Hearing Block 1 focused on:
- Defining antisemitism.
- The nature of antisemitism, in its historical and contemporary manifestations.
- Lived experiences of antisemitism, and its impacts on Jewish Australians in various domains.
- Metrics for assessing the prevalence of antisemitism in institutions and society, including through incident reporting and survey data.
