Hearing Block 6: Guidance and training
The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion will hold its sixth hearing block in Sydney, from Tuesday 28 July to Friday 31 July 2026.
Hearing Block 6 will focus on guidance, training and frameworks to respond to antisemitic conduct in different domains, including ways in which government agencies and institutions can counteract and prevent manifestations of antisemitism.
This hearing block will consider how social cohesion may be enhanced with education and policy frameworks related to antisemitism for:
- government decision-making and workplaces
- the healthcare sector
- schools
- the arts and creative industry.
“Antisemitism has no place in our communities, workplaces, schools, healthcare settings or cultural institutions. Education, training and strong standards play a critical role in building understanding, fostering respect and supporting social cohesion,” Commissioner Virginia Bell AC SC said.
“Hearing Block 6 will examine the effectiveness of existing frameworks and will explore ways to improve these frameworks to prevent and respond to antisemitic conduct and improve social cohesion.”
“Addressing antisemitism requires a proactive and coordinated approach. By ensuring people have the knowledge, tools and support to recognise and respond to antisemitism, we can help create safer, more inclusive environments for everyone.”
Evidence from Hearing Block 6 reflects paragraphs (a)(ii) and (a)(iii) of the Royal Commission’s Terms of Reference, with respect to tackling antisemitism, as well as aspects of paragraph (b)(i) concerned with guidance and training for agencies to respond to antisemitic conduct.
The Royal Commission will continue to publish the list of witnesses the day before they are due to give evidence on the Commission’s website. Members of the public can attend hearings in person at 83 Clarence Street, Sydney or view the livestream of the public hearings on our website.
