Practice Guideline – General Practice Guideline

This Practice Guideline sets out general guidance about the practice and procedures of the Commission.

The Commission has also published other Practice Guidelines dealing with more specific aspects of the Commission’s conduct. They are:

• Practice Guideline – Document Production Guideline;
• Practice Guideline – Legal Professional Privilege; and
• Practice Guideline – Hearings, Witnesses and Leave to Appear.

The Practice Guidelines should be read together with the Act, the relevant State legislation and the terms of reference contained in the Letters Patent establishing the Commission. Nothing in this (or any other) Practice Guideline should be taken as limiting the Commissioner’s powers under the Act or relevant State legislation.

This Guideline, and the other Practice Guidelines published by the Commission may be varied, changed or replaced at any time. Those engaging with the Commission are encouraged to check the website of the Commission for any updated Practice Guidelines.
