Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion
Hearing Block 2
The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion will hold its second hearing block in Sydney starting Monday 25 May 2026.
On 9 January 2026, the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, issued Letters Patent, which established the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion.
The Hon Virginia Bell AC SC has been appointed as the Royal Commissioner. The Commissioner is required to produce an interim report by 30 April 2026 and a final report by 14 December 2026.
The Letters Patent set out the Royal Commissioner’s terms of reference.

Interim Report
On 30 April 2026, Commissioner Virginia Bell AC SC presented the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, the Interim Report of the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion. The Interim Report was tabled in the Australian Parliament on 30 April 2026.
